Smoothies are always a big snack-time hit. This is a vegan version of a milkshake, and for special occasions such as birthdays, we always get requests for ‘Chocolate Milkshakes!’ on the menu.
2 c Almond Milk
1 c Frozen Strawberries
1 Frozen Banana
1 T Cocoa Powder
1 T Maple Syrup (can replace with dates)
Add-ins – spinach, avocado, chia seeds, nut butter
Smoothie recipes are great because you can add in what you have on add and make adjustments as you go along. If you like yours sweeter, add a bit more maple syrup. If you really like to taste the strawberries, add more berries in. Adding in an avocado makes it nice and creamy, chia seeds give you a great nutritional boost of omega 3 fatty acids, protein, iron and calcium. Have fun!
